David Shearer
Managing Director
David joined MediaCom Edinburgh as an Account Director over 17 years ago and has been Managing Director for the last 8 years. In that time, the Edinburgh office has expanded to nearly 60 people and become the largest media agency in Scotland. David’s job is to help the team deliver a best-in-class, bespoke service to our clients.
Jane McTaggart
Client Services Director
Jane has been with MediaCom for 15 years. After joining as a planner/buyer, she now heads up one of the account teams in the Edinburgh office responsible for accounts falling into various sectors such as travel and home. She was made a Board Director in 2017.
Gordon Eldrett
Marketing Director
Gordon has worked in media for over 20 years having started at Granada in 1998. He joined MediaCom Edinburgh in 2004 and worked on the account management side before moving over to spearhead the agency's new business and marketing in 2010. He has helped the agency achieve double digit growth every year since then.
Tony Jervis
Commercial and Trading Director
Tony has responsibility for all aspects Trading and Commercial. His job is to help our people deliver best value for clients and drive innovative commercial opportunities. Tony has over 30 years' experience working in media agencies, the last 11 at MediaCom Edinburgh. He was promoted to the board in 2008.
Murray Calder
Strategy Director
Murray leads strategic thinking for MediaCom Edinburgh clients and has worked here for 13 years. He previously held global marketing roles for scotch whisky brands including The Famous Grouse, The Macallan and Highland Park. Murray is a fellow of both the IPA and The Marketing Society.
Kirsty Anderson
Group Account Director
Kirsty has worked at MediaCom Edinburgh for 11 years, working her way from Account Manager to Group Account Director. She initially worked with Subway and helped launch their £3 Lunch deal, which won a Marketing Society Gold Star. She currently leads a team whose clients include Dobbies, Edinburgh Fringe and Scotmid. She is also global lead on Innovation Norway, the tourist board for Norway.
Dan Sear
Group Account Director
Dan has over 20 years of experience across B2B and B2C and leads the Subway and Scottish Widows team. Dan has worked at MediaCom Edinburgh since 2006 and has worked on a number of national and international accounts including Scottish Government, Formula E and SportingBet. Dan and his team specialise in engaging youth audiences and activating innovative campaigns within new platforms such as Twitch and TikTok.
Jane Wilson
Group Account Director
Jane has over over 20 years of media experience drawing on this to lead a passionate team, dedicated to delivering and executing the best possible communication for our clients. She has a wealth of experience in social marketing and direct response. In 2019 her team won a Gold Marketing Society Star Award and were highly commended at the Drum DADI awards for their work with Tesco Bank.
Emma Murray-Smith
Group Account Director
Emma has been working in Media agencies for over 17 years, 13 of those at MediaCom Edinburgh. She started as a Planner Buyer and is now a Group Account Director, responsible for the team that runs campaigns for Trivago, Savencia, Genius and more. She has worked across many different categories including finance, travel, food and drink, publishing and pharmaceutical. Emma works closely with the AV team to help her clients achieve their objectives.
Michael Thomson
Head of Digital
Michael started his career in digital in 2006 watching it develop and transform all aspects of people's lives. Applying his experience, Michael drives best practice in digital media across our client base working closely across the planning and buying arms of MediaCom. He's is an industry leader in data-driven marketing, particularly Internationally having worked not just locally in UK, but in EMEA and North America too.
Maud is responsible for the planning, implementation and delivery of all AV strategies across the business. She has just under 20 years of experience in the media industry and has always been specialised in all things broadcast. She joined MediaCom Edinburgh in 2014 and has been working closely with clients such as Trivago, Subway, Hachette on both airtime and partnerships deals.
Sophia Bates
Head of Connected Execution
Sophia has over 15 years marketing experience both client side, agency side and third sector. She joined MediaCom Edinburgh as an Account Director on Subway, before becoming Head of Connected Execution in 2018. Working across all client teams supporting systems thinking and connected media planning culture across. Helping to drive media creativity and ultimately help our clients meet their business objectives.
